A fantastic day out as a family in a winter wonderland just out side Wetherby. Great value for money at Stockeld Park. The whole family enjoyed skating ,on a real ice-rink, Nordic skiing, enchanted forest Christmas lit walk, maze and a visit to Father Christmas for all of us who had been good this year. It was a cold frosty day so it felt even more right. Well done to Eren for coming up with this great family day out.Elizabeth and Maisy couldn't get enough of the ice-rink. They had a lovely Christmas shop where we picked up a couple of new decorations for the tree and we enjoyed hot chocolate with the works (flake, cream and marshmallows). I had a hot black tea. I love my family.xxxxx

IT'S BEEN A WHILE
Ok it's been a while seen we last put a post on the Blog. We've continued to enjoy life up north and this summer we had the chance to explore Northumberland staying at Berwick-Upon-Tweed. The weather was really good and we all had a great time.
Then we had a week showing the girls the sights of London. The London Eye went down really well as did all the other top sights that London has to offer. We took in the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the British Museum. The top attraction for Maisy was the London Underground and a bit like her big sister Eren ,before her, she could have spent all her time enjoying travelling that.

Olympic Torch
They all sat on the front lawn waiting for it to arrive drinking tea and eating corissants.
I watched it and them live at school in the hall with Olympic torch live.
A moment of history we will all never forget.

Quick Autumn Catch Up
Well the autumn seems to have just flown by and now we are at Christmas again-where do the years and time go?
Maisy has settled in really well to school and is really enjoying being in Mrs Proctors class. Check out her sports day video clips-how sweet is my girl?
Elizabeth has now got so good on her cornet that she has been able to join Mr Joys Ensemble group and plays in assemblies every Thursday. Now we have broken up for the Christmas holidays and are busy getting ready for the big day. I will add some pictures of the festive season as soon as-we have Eren and Aaron coming over and the girls are involved in the church nativity Christmas Eve which I am helping to jointly lead with the Vicar. We are off on a lovely Post Boxing day dog walk with our church friends weather permitting, which should be lovely and I'm looking forward to.

Valley Gardens Harrogate:-)Wonderful

What a lovely day we've had today. Eren took us to Valley Gardens which is a beautiful park just down the road from their flat in Harrogate. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the adventure playground. There was something for everybody in fact. The park gardens were set out beautifully and their was a small water way running the lower length of the park with fish and ducks. There was loads of play equipment for all ages, trees to sit under for shade-which is what we needed today for our picnic with temperatures at 28 degrees. A really lovely day alround.
When we got home the girls were straight back in their paddling pool to enjoy the rest of the day.

An Easter ROLL

What a great walk we had over the Easter holiday. We went out with Freddie and our neighbour and work friends Sue and Tom plus Sue's dog Poppy. We went off to Cawood and had a lovely walk along the River Ouse. The dogs enjoyed chasing each other and a ball, while Denise and Tom enjoyed rolling down the bank inspired by Maisy and Elizabeths efforts. Needless to say Tom already hung over could barley stand afterwards closely followed by Denise - both were staggering around for a good five minutes which was very funny to watch. They'll both grow up one day!!!

Baptism, Confirmations, birthday parties and OFSTED

What a busy couple of weeks .
It all started with Denise being baptised and both of us being confirmed at our church by the Archbishop of York. Wow!! how nervous were we!
This was followed by a joint birthday party for Maisy and Elizabeth with 18 friends and two fab cakes created by Denise.
Then the news that I had OFSTED in school this Monday and Tuesday (7/8th March). So two days of intense stress and pressure. I got a good for my lesson observation but we found out they'd raised the bar so it's now more difficult for schools to pass their inspections ,so we await the results now. We think it went OK.

Birthday Girl

Happy 4th Birthday to Maisy. She had a lovely day on the 19th getting her big girls bike and Pepa Pig roller skates. She is now looking forward to her joint party with Elizabeth.
We didn't manage to make it down south this half term due to horrendous car trouble-and it is still in the garage going nowhere fast as they try to find out what is wrong with it. So its back to getting lifts to work tomorrow.

A Great Christmas

Another Christmas flashes by and its been lovely. The children took part as angels in the church nativity service which was typically cute and wonderfully performed as only children can.
The Christmas day service was fantastic and Elizabeth read out loud and was brilliant so much so she got a round of applause.
Denise produced another wonderful christmas cake which I have been busy working my way through and its delicious. I promise I'll work it all of in the new year.
Denise's toddler group made a lovely nativity scene-very creative and on display in the church hall for all to see.
The girls got some lovely presents and particularly loved the dolls houses they got.
